Crack

 1 cup butter (2 sticks)

2 cups dark brown sugar

1/2 Karo light corn syrup

1/2 tsp baking soda

10 oz cashews

10 oz peanuts

1 brown grocery store bag

Place the cereal and nuts in the paper bag and shake.

In a medium saucepan pan melt the butter over low heat.

Add the corn syrup and brown sugar and let it come to a rolling boil over medium heat. The mixture will be caramel in color and frothy.

Let boil over medium heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, stirring continuously.

Remove heat and add the baking soda - mix well.

Pour the mixture over the cereal, roll the bag down and shake vigorously. Be careful - use oven mitts.

Place bag in microwave, cook on high for 2 minutes (make sure the bag is rotating or the mixture will burn.)

Remove from microwave. Shake vigorously using oven mitts.

Microwave on high another 2 minutes, making sure the bag turns

Remove and pour mixture out onto parchment paper. Spread and allow to cool. Break apart and enjoy.
